Vanessa Ortiz participated in the Africa Democracy Forum General Assembly, a network of African democracy and human rights activists. The gathering, hosted by the National Endowment for Democracy, brought together 65 NGO representatives from the DRC, Liberia, Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Somaliland, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and Sudan. Vanessa presented on nonviolent conflict as part of a panel presentation, and held two movie screenings, with in-depth discussions, of A Force More Powerful.
