  • As part of its education mission, ICNC organized a two-day academic training for college and university instructors, faculty members and doctoral students on teaching and studying the subject of civil resistance.

Participants of the workshop covered the main topics in civil resistance studies that include, among others:
  • Definition of main concepts and clarification of misconceptions
  • Historical and contemporary records of civil resistance
  • Qualitative and quantitative studies of nonviolent conflict
  • Emerging areas of research on civil resistance (democratic transformation, corruption, extreme violence)
  • Historiography of teaching and disciplinary location of civil resistance studies

The workshop also discussed teaching pedagogy and teaching tools, including documentaries, case studies and the new computer game People Power.
