Merab Ingabire is Associate Editor of the Minds of the Movement blog. member of the leadership team and Head of Advocacy and Communications at Solidarity Uganda, a progressive organization engaged in training, coaching and capacity-building for activists, organizers and vulnerable populations to boost their social and political effectiveness using civil resistance as a methodology. With over eight years of experience in training, campaigning, and advocacy, she has supported grassroots communities across Uganda in designing strategic nonviolent campaigns that achieve tangible victories against injustice.
Merab specializes in helping movements sharpen their strategies, craft compelling public narratives, and curate powerful stories of resistance and people power. Her work bridges grassroots organizing with high-level advocacy, ensuring that local struggles gain visibility, solidarity, and impact.
In addition to her organizing and advocacy work, Merab has a background as a photojournalist and writer, using media as a tool to amplify voices often excluded from mainstream narratives. She holds a graduate diploma in Development Communication from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication from Makerere University.
