Charmaine Willis

Charmaine Willis is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University at Albany, State University of New York (USA). Her research primarily examines social movements, terrorism, and protest repression, with a regional focus on East Asia. Her dissertation project explores the interplay of social movement framing and political opportunity structures in the context of anti-U.S.-military movements in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. Her work has appeared in the Asian Journal of Comparative Politics, International Studies Perspectives, the Journal of Civil Society, the Journal of Political Science Education, and Small Wars and Insurgencies.
