Micheline Mwendike is an influential Congolese activist and co-founder of the nonviolent citizen movement LUCHA (Lutte pour le Changement). Recognized for her commitment to human rights and social justice in the DRC, she is also a prolific writer. Her best-known work, La Guerre a échoué (not translated), offers an insightful chronicle of the history of Goma and the origins of nonviolent resistance. The book is widely considered essential reading and one of the most influential among Congolese activists, inspiring many young people to commit themselves to social change. In addition to her activist and literary activities, Micheline Mwendike is also Program Manager at Afrikki, a pan-African network of activists.
