Virginie Pochon is French. She has lived in Haiti for over 24 years. She is a founding member and project manager of the Groupe d'Action Francophone pour l'Environnement (GAFE), a Haitian organization campaigning for climate justice. She holds a master's degree in ecology and a post-graduate diploma in local development. She also obtained a diploma in international solidarity project coordination from the Institut Bioforce Développement.
