This program is designed for an intellectual-dissident, a struggle writer or a practitioner-activist who is part of an ongoing nonviolent resistance in her/his community or country to spend between one and six weeks in-residence at an academic institution in the Washington, DC area.
The fellowship offers its awardees time, space and distance from the conflict to be able to reflect on the progress of the struggle, conduct analytical work on specific aspects of civil resistance, and rethink strategies to develop more effective means of leading nonviolent struggle in a particular context.
