Free Webinar to Present New ICNC Monograph: ‘The Impact of Nonviolent Resistance on Civil War Resolution’
In a coming webinar, Dr. Luke Abbs, a research fellow at the United Kingdom’s Centre for Religion, Reconciliation and Peace, will discuss civil resistance campaigns and how they affect post-conflict transformation as documented in his new ICNC Monograph, The Impact of Nonviolent Resistance on Civil War Resolution.
The free webinar, June 2 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. EDT, will examine the likelihood of a negotiated settlements following large-scale nonviolent campaigns, and the probability of democratization once the conflict ends. Abbs analyzes cases between 1955 and 2013 from around the world, including evidence from South Africa and Mali.
